Simulation and Experimental Study on Metal Microstructure of Meniscus‐Confined Electrodeposition

Meniscus-confined electrodeposition (MCED), as one of the multifunctional additive manufacturing methods for microsensor and flexible electrical interconnection, has great potential in future miniaturized communication devices. At present, however, understanding multiphysical field processes involved this method, such electrodeposition, fluid dynamics, mass heat transfer, is limited, deposition forming process not yet been well explained. Herein, metal microstructure used by MCED studied, contour features are characterized. Simultaneously, based on law liquid phase transfer microzone, theoretical model established, important role Marangoni effect evaporation revealed, analyzed discussed. Besides, dynamic further proved simulation analysis. The equipment built to manufacture microstructure. Furthermore, effects morphology, roundness, vertical angle, chemical composition deposited experimentally. These results provide a promising platform direct fabrication nanocircuit interconnections, microsensors, microantennas.
